HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 32

Requesting the Division of Highways to designate U. S. Route 50 between Clarksburg and Parkersburg the "Stonewall Jackson Memorial Highway."

Whereas, Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson was born in the year one thousand eight hundred twenty-four at the present site of Clarksburg, West Virginia; and
Whereas, The mother of Stonewall Jackson, Julia Beckwith Neale, was a native of the Parkersburg, West Virginia, area; and
Whereas, Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson is honored throughout our nation and much of the world for his skill as a military leader and strategist; and
Whereas, It is appropriate that the citizens of West Virginia show their pride in their native son by designating a highway to bear his name; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Division of Highways be requested to designate U. S. Route 50 between Clarksburg and Parkersburg as the "Stonewall Jackson Memorial Highway"; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates be directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Commissioner of the Division of Highways.
